This allows an author’s work to be judged directly by the customer, not first by the publisher. With Amazon’s Direct Publishing program any author can submit their work to be distributed by Amazon and sold for the Kindle and Kindle apps. In the past writers had to be fortunate enough to land a deal with a publisher if they wanted any chance of their work making into the hands of the public, that is being changed with Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing. Hugh Howey is proof that the barriers of entry are being removed for writers. The following is what I thought of each book, but first a little bit about the self-published author. I eventually needed something new to read and decided to download the first book from Amazon. I was reluctant to read it though because I was never a fan of science fiction books (with the obvious exception of zombies stories). I discovered the Silo Saga after the guys on the Tested podcast kept raving about it for the past year. ![]()
